The “Tama’s Stroll” Series follows the gentle journeys of Tama, a black-and-white (hachiware) cat, as she wanders through Japan’s seasonal landscapes. Each design captures a fleeting moment—inviting you to slow down and reconnect with a softer rhythm of life.

In this September design, Tama walks quietly along a path beside a cosmos flower field, known in Japan as “akizakura.” The scene unfolds at dusk, when the sky softens into warm tones and the day gently comes to an end.

In the background stands a traditional thatched-roof house, evoking memories of rural Japan and a simpler time. The swaying flowers and fading light create a deeply nostalgic atmosphere.

In Japanese, cosmos (KOSUMOSU) are written as 秋桜—literally “autumn” (秋) and “cherry blossom” (桜)—but read as akizakura. This poetic expression reflects how cosmos resemble cherry blossoms blooming in autumn, symbolizing a gentle continuation of beauty across the seasons.

Cosmos flowers represent harmony, modesty, and quiet elegance. Their delicate movement in the wind reflects the fleeting nature of time and the beauty of impermanence.
