Unlike standard plain weave fabrics, habutae uses finer doubled warp threads, creating a softer, more refined texture often referred to as “silk with a luminous finish.”
The outer fabric is a deep black with a clean and elegant appearance, suitable for formal wear. The haori features family crests (mon), indicating its formal status.
