Katori Jingū is one of the oldest and most important Shinto shrines in Japan. It is the head shrine of all Katori shrines across the country and has been revered for centuries as a place of powerful spiritual protection.
The shrine enshrines the deity Futsunushi-no-Ōkami, a god associated with the sword, courage, and the power to overcome obstacles. In Japanese mythology, this deity represents the strength to cut through difficulties and open new paths in life.

Note
Omamori are traditionally carried in a bag or wallet. They are not meant to be opened. In Shinto shrines it is believed that the protective spirit of the deity resides inside, while in Buddhist temples the amulet may contain a prayer or blessing.
