Origami Crane Pendant in Glass – A Symbol of Serenity and Harmony
This delicate pendant features a tiny origami crane enclosed within a luminous glass sphere, gently reflecting the light with every movement.
In Japan, the crane (tsuru) is a symbol of longevity, good fortune, and hope.
Worn close to the heart, it carries a quiet wish—or becomes a meaningful gift for someone special.
Inside the sphere is a hand-folded crane made from traditional Japanese washi paper, artisanally printed by Asai Chōraku-en using traditional katagami—stencils originally used for dyeing kimono, now applied to decorate paper.
The nadeshiko (Japanese pink) pattern, delicately printed in white on a turquoise background, has long been associated with the beauty of Japanese femininity, expressing grace, tenderness, and inner strength.
Its name evokes something so delicate it invites care—yet it quietly embodies resilience.
Each crane is folded from a tiny 2.7 cm square, then carefully inserted into a 2 cm glass sphere through a narrow opening before its wings are gently opened—an intricate and highly skilled process.
Blue is the color of calm and inner serenity, evoking the sky and the sea.
It carries the wish that the wearer may feel at peace, as if embraced by nature.
