Modular Origami Diamond Earrings – Kyoto Washi, Gold Accents
- These unique diamond-shaped earrings are made using three sheets of Kyoto hand-printed washi in different patterns: delicate nadeshiko (Japanese Pink) flowers, seasonal flora, and traditional geometric kikkō (tortoise shell) motifs. The black paper is printed with gold, giving a subtle metallic shimmer.
The modular origami technique (Sonobe method) creates an elegant, symmetrical form—two pyramids joined tip-to-tip. Small metal bead caps on the top and bottom add sophistication, elevating the paper earrings to a luxurious look.
The earrings are French hook style in nickel-free brass, lightweight yet eye-catching. On black hair, the black paper may be subtle, but the gold accents gleam softly. Even with paper as the main material, these earrings exude high-end elegance and glamour.

A striking accessory that combines Japanese craftsmanship, modular origami artistry, and a touch of luxury.
The three washi sheets each carry their own meaning: delicate nadeshiko flowers symbolize grace and quiet strength, seasonal flora represents nature’s beauty and vitality, and the geometric kikkō (tortoise shell) pattern stands for longevity and protection. Together, they create a harmonious blend of tradition and elegance.
