Each 3 cm wooden circle is covered on both sides with the same exquisite washi: a deep black handmade paper from Asai Chourakuen in Kyoto, decorated with hand-printed gold nadeshiko flowers (Japanese Pink).

Nadeshiko carries a gentle sentiment in Japanese culture—its name evokes the image of “caressing a child,” and it is often associated with tenderness and care.
